How to Use a Body Buffer Sponge (And Why It Beats a Loofah)

A body buffer sponge is soap and exfoliant in one: a triple-butter bar built into a mesh sponge, so lathering and scrubbing happen in the same motion. That's the main thing that separates it from a plain loofah, which only exfoliates and needs a separate wash.

How to use one

Wet the sponge, work it in your hands or against your skin until it lathers, then scrub in small circles โ€” focus on elbows, knees, and heels where skin is thicker. Rinse the sponge fully after each use and let it air-dry between showers so it lasts longer.

Why the butter blend matters

Ours use a cocoa, shea, and mango butter base, so the sponge is moisturising while it exfoliates โ€” you're not left dry and tight the way a bare loofah plus separate soap can leave you. Midnight Jasmine is a good floral pick for an evening shower; Ice Ice Beauty (eucalyptus and vetiver) is better for a wake-up-fast morning routine.

How long does one last?

With daily use, expect 3-4 weeks from a single sponge before the bar wears down โ€” similar to a bar of soap, just with the added scrubbing texture built in.
